DETROIT PIZZA
DETROIT PIZZA RECIPE |
Our Detroit type pizza is a rectangular deep-dish pizza with a crispy, cheesy crust edge, layered with topping and cheese all the way to the edge, and finished with a premium diced tomato sauce on top.
INGREDIANTS: -
DETROIT PIZZA INGREDINATS |
- One cup warm water
- .25-ounce package active dry yeast
- One teaspoon white sugar
- Three teaspoon olive oil, divided
- One teaspoon kosher salt
- Two and half cups bread flour
- One-ounce jar marinara sauce
- One teaspoon red pepper flake
- One teaspoon garlic powder
- One package shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- Half package mild Cheddar cheese
- One package thick pepperoni slice
PREPARATION PROCEDURE: -
STEP NO 1: -
WARM WATER AND YEAST IN BOWL |
Transfer warm water
into the bowl of stand mixer, mix in yeast and sugar and let liquify. Add two
teaspoon olive oil, salt and bread flour. Massage mixture together with a dough
hook extra until dough is very smooth, soft and elastic.
STEP NO 2: -
OLIVE OIL ON FINGER AND THUMB |
Drizzle remaining
olive oil over the bottom of a 10 multiply 14-inch Detroit-style pizza pan and
spread around with your finger. Place dough in the center, pull and stretch
into a roughly rectangular stapes with oiled finger. Protection and let rise
until doubled in volume, about one hour. Make sauce and cheese in the interim.
STEP NO 3: -
SYNDICATE RED PEPPER AND GARLIC |
Syndicate marinara
sauce, oregano, red pepper flakes and garlic powder in a pan over medium low
heat. Simmer to fully hydrate the oregano and garlic, about fifteen minutes.
STEP NO 4: -
PREHEATING OF OVEN |
Heat up the oven to
500 to 550 degrees F.
STEP NO 5: -
CHEDDAR AND DICE CHEESE |
Dice Monterey Jack
and Cheddar cheese into small chops. Toss jokily to mix calm.
STEP NO 6: -
SCRUB FINGERTIPS WITH OLIVE OIL |
Scrub fingertips
with some olive oil from the pan. Press out air from the dough while stretching
and pushing into a rectangle that goes all the way to the edge of the pan.
Stretch up the sides about half inch or so.
STEP NO 7: -
PEPPERONI ONTO DOUGH |
Lay most of the
pepperoni onto the dough. Sprinkle cheese chops evenly on top, making sure to
fully cover all the edges where dough meets the pan. Ladle sauce on top in
three strips. Arrange remaining pepperoni over the sauce.
STEP NO 8: -
BAKING OF PIZZA |
Bake in the
preheated oven until pizza is somewhere between golden brown and golden black,
about fifteen minutes. Let cool for five minutes.
STEP NO 9: -
CUTTING OF PIZZA |
Very carefully side pizza a cutting board using a spatula. Censored into separate pieces using the
lines of sauce as an attendant.
